Metalcrafters, Inc. was established in 1943 in a small, dimly lit shop in Wakefield, Massachusetts. To serve the growing economy and booming textile industry in the area at the time, the company’s initial endeavors included producing items such as doll carriages, exercise equipment, and fabric cutting equipment.
Circa 1950
Along with the growing economy came the explosion of the high-tech industry in the Massachusetts area, and Metalcrafters found themselves in a time of transition. In the 1960s, Metalcrafters began to work with some of the area’s largest companies providing them with high-volume precision stampings.
In the early ’70s, recognizing a change in fabrication technology and industry needs, Metalcrafters began to focus more on precision sheet metal fabrication.
The company quickly gained recognition as a world-class precision metal fabricator providing quality products to many customers throughout the world. This synergy propelled Metalcrafters through the 1980's and into the 1990's.
As manufacturing demands grew throughout the 1990's, Metalcrafters was outgrowing its home of the last 50 years. The third generation of the Tucker family was in full swing preparing a long-term sustaining plan for future growth and prosperity.
Metalcrafters has been recognized as a world-class precision metal fabricator that provides quality products to customers worldwide.
In 1999, Metalcrafters evolved significantly, moving to its newly built 130,000 square-foot manufacturing facility, investing heavily in automation and robotics to position itself for future capacity and growth.
In 2000, Metalcrafters received its certification to ISO 9001:2015, and adopted the philosophy of “Customer Satisfaction through Total Quality Management.” This philosophy has driven continued growth and expanded our capabilities over the years.
Metalcrafters has come a long way since 1943 and will always strive to carry forth our legacy with honor and commitment.
